Meet our Founder

After 22 years of successful business operations in Australia, Jonathan Kempe founded Source Consulting New Zealand, in 2023. Jonathan is an entrepreneur, technologist, lecturer, author, industry analyst and strategic thinker. He has accrued a diverse array of skills over a long and dynamic career in small business, large corporates, not-for-profits, and the maritime, technology, education, media, non-government organization and Defence Force sectors.

Jonathan has been invited to lecture and speak in universities and conferences across the world on a range of topics: Emerging technological trends, global maritime security, systems integration and how to improve business efficiency using transformational processes and digitisation. Jonathan has contributed to Australian, New Zealand and U.S. strategies for technological integration, economic resilience and trade facilitation, and recently co-authored a book about the necessity of securing commercial maritime activities to improve global security (Zero Point Four).

With the scars to prove it, Jonathan is well versed in navigating the complexities, trials and failures that business pioneers, owners and senior decision-makers face. He states: "Source was birthed out of a desire to redefine traditional consulting by rapidly and creatively solving complicated problems." With a passion for generating unique solutions, Jonathan loves working alongside like-minded people, and seeks to re-imagine a brighter future through pragmatic and outcome-focused ideation.
